Lauryn Campbell (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) had a four-hit effort in a Game 1 victory as the Carl Sandburg College softball team split a doubleheader at home with DuPage on Friday afternoon at the Hungate Baseball/Softball Complex.
Sandburg (8-14) rallied for an 11-7 win in Game 1 before the Chaparrals took Game 2 9-4.

Key Moments
- Down 4-1 in the fourth, the Chargers tied the game behind three consecutive two-out hits. Shay Anderson (Stronghurst, Ill./West Central) singled in a run and scored on a double by Emily Bloomer (Burlington, Iowa/Burlington). Campbell followed with a base hit up the middle to plate Bloomer and knot the score.
- Anderson’s RBI double to left put the Chargers ahead in the fifth, and Sandburg added on five more in the frame. An outfield error scored two, and Campbell doubled in a run for an 8-4 lead. Brytne Fenton (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) delivered two more with a base hit to center to make it 10-4.

Campbell went 4 for 5 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs to pace a 14-hit attack for Sandburg.
